The Hanging Planter project was a two week design challenge. When first designing I was inspired by the wrapping and movement that present within the vines of  my mint plant. I had originally designed a figure with triangles in a variation of sizes to represent movement and growth. After speaking with people experienced in the material, I discovered the best way to use the plastic was between curved surfaces. This led me away from geometric shapes and towards the hoops I used in my final design. When transitioning experimenting at full scale I realized that the hoops alone were not strong enough to sustain the shape and weight of my design. This brought me to the wrapping pattern that I carried out throughout my design; also going with my overarching concept of movement.
The mint plant survived the first frost and was replanted in the hoop house.
